Meet Tiffany. She's 18 years old and
a Brooklyn, NY native. She plans on being an
Interior Design major. For fun she loves to step, go out with her friends,
listen to her favorite music, and cuddle up with her dog Gigi.
1. Why did you go natural? Or why are you natural?
I had permed hair all throughout high school. As I
got older, I got more and more frustrated with my hair because I felt like it
wasn’t growing, and was just overall unhealthy. I finally decided that I didn’t
want to be dependent on a relaxer in order for my hair to look nice. I wanted
to embrace my natural hair and be able to feel beautiful and confident in my
own skin. I transitioned for about eight months, and finally did my big chop
about a month ago in February.
2. What is your go-to hairstyle?
My go-to hairstyle is definitely a twist-out. But
sometimes when I get lazy and forget to twist my hair, I like to throw on my
favorite scarf.
3. Do you have any hair crushes or inspirations?
3. Do you have any hair crushes or inspirations?
The first person I saw really embracing her natural
hair was Elle Varner. I loved how confident she was with her curls, and that
gave me the inspiration to go natural myself. I also really love Naptural85
because she has so many different styles for her hair. I hope to be versatile
with my hair like that one day.
4. What are your top 5 favorite products?
Cantu Shea Butter Leave In Conditioning Repair
Cream, Crème of Nature Argan Oil Sulfate Free Shampoo, Mixed Chicks Leave-In
Conditioner, Tresemme Naturals Conditioner and Shea Moisture Coconut and Hibiscus
Curl Enhancing Smoothie.
5. What is the best part of having natural hair?
I love the confidence and the freedom that comes
with being able to wear my hair the exact way it grows out of my head.
6. What is the worst part of having natural hair?
Definitely detangling and keeping up with twisting
my hair every night before bed. Sometimes I just get so lazy!
7. What advice would you give to people who are natural or who want to be?
I say have fun with it! Going natural is a process
and a major learning experience. It can be intimidating but it’s really
inspiring to learn about other people’s stories. When you have guidance through
friends, blogs, and videos, it makes the process so much easier and exciting.
8. What do you like/love most about this blog?
It showcases beauty in all forms. It doesn’t matter
a person’s skin color, hair texture, curl pattern, or whether or not they
decide to relax their hair because everyone is beautiful. There is no one
standard definition of beauty and I think that’s a really important message that
we need to spread in today’s society.
